This is probably my favorite beatles album and that s saying a lot.
Picture disk vinyl sound quality.
A few exceptions exist.
Albeit with the hiss still.
Picture discs are gramophone phonograph records that show images on their playing surface rather than being of plain black or colored vinyl.
The records always skip and the sound quality is muffled.
Very few additives can be mixed into clear vinyl without jeopardizing the opacity which means there is a potential for worse sound quality albeit this drop is often imperceptible to the common listener.
Iron maiden and other metal bands due to the usually striking artwork on metal albums have done every album on picture disc only and i must say they are very thick very smooth and sound fantastic.
Picture discs colored vinyl.
And in some cases if the mastering was handled better for the picture disc release than it was for the standard vinyl pressing the picture disc can sound better despite the downsides.
Clear vinyl picture discs and glow in the dark pressings are more susceptible to poor playback.
Does anyone know how to id whether it s a normal black record or a picture disk.
Picture disks on vinyls are absolutely horrible.
The quality of the picture disc is first class and the surface noise if you re still concerned about it is audible only between tracks and barely audible during the music.
But they have gotten much much better.
I m trying to find out how to identify whether a vinyl i m attempting to buy is a picture disk or not.
Many picture discs do sound good.
Collectors traditionally reserve the term picture disc for records with graphics that extend at least partly into the actual playable grooved area distinguishing them from picture label discs which have a specially illustrated and sometimes very.
And what music it is.
